Oil on Canvas by the British artist Ernest Knight signed, inscribed verso on stretcher Widecombe on the Moor Winter 1983/4.(This view is probable from the artists garden).Born London 1915 died 1995. Knight studied at the London and Brighton Schools of Art,he lived in Widecombe on the Moor Devon for a number of years.He is best known for his paintings of the Devon countryside and Coast.Ernest Knight features in the book "Dartmoor Artists"2002 by Brian Le Messurier, publisher Halsgrove.
