Description
A superb oil on canvas by the Scottish artist Mary Ballantyne EXH 1910- 1939.The picture is titled"Teaching new tricks" and was painted by her between 1910-1920.The work was bought at auction in the 1980s and formed part of the studio sale of Mary Ballantyne and her husband Robert Wilkie after their death.There is a letter with the picture from "Scottish Flair" Art Gallery of Inverness confirming authenticity
Mary Ballantyne regularly exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Society.
