American Opaline Glass Scent Bottle, C.1860
Description
This beautiful and unusual Early American Pattern Glass ( EAPG for short) pressed glass scent bottle dates circa 1860. The white opaque glass body of hexagonal form. The milk glass panels with raised pressed glass diamond patterns. The body and collar heightened with gilt borders. The neck fitted with the original pressed glass stopper. It's a very tactile and rather rare American pressed glass scent boytle.
Early American Pattern Glass ( EAPG for short) is clear or coloured pressed glass made from around 1850 to about 1914. Many different manufacturers made EAPG, amongst the most renowned were, the New England Glass Company, the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company and the Cape Cod Glass Company. I was told this particular design is from the New England Glass Company.
