Description

A large late Victorian walnut cased bracket clock. The gilded brass arched dial has a sivered chapter ring with engraved Roman numerals interspersed with fleur-de-lis, minute markers and a matted centre with gilt spandrels. The face also has 2 subsidiary silvered dials one for "chime / silent" the other "slow / fast” and all with blackened pointers.The 3 train, 8 day movement plays Westminster Chimes on the quarters, half, hour and strikes the number of hours on a separate gong and has a pull-repeat cord. The movement fully cleaned and serviced. The case retaining it's original gilt brass finials and mounts etc. and very good "sun burst" sound fret panels to each side. The case raised on a stepped moulded base and supported on ornate ball and claw style feet. Condition- very good. Dimensions:- Max.Height…27’’/ 68.5cm. Width…17’’/ 43cm. Depth…12.25’’/ 31cm.
