Description

A Beautiful original watercolour view of Saltaire c1920
A unique work of art!

This is a large and original view of Saltaire which is mounted on board within an oval frame.

This is an original watercolour produced by an advertising agency named J K Land who were based on Piccadilly in Bradford.
J K Land designed and printed a lot of work for Bradford textile mills.

Please note that this is an original watercolour – it is not a print!

On close inspection you can see the vast amount of detail on this piece including: canal boats, shadows on the figures walking at the bottom of Victoria Road, almost all the window panes have been highlighted in a silver paint (very effectively as it ‘shimmers’ in the light when moved at an angle), even the vehicle windows have been depicted in detail and the flow of the water in the canal and the River Aire are captured beautifully!
This is a very high quality piece and there are some pencil notes from the draughtsman/designer. On the back, there are several stamps from a Bradford artist supply shop “Dale Diamond” who provided high quality material.
There is an enormous amount of detail from the trucks, people & cars on Victoria Road to the church, chimneys, houses and trees in the distance.

Overall measures approx 810mm x 560mm

This is from a private collection of archival material relating to Bradford textile industry that will be listed over the next few weeks.

All of our ancient art is guaranteed to be as described and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Please note that this piece will be sent fully insured.
