Joseph Hughes Clayton (1870-1930) worked mainly on the North Wales coast and Anglesey, especially Cemaes Bay where he owned a cottage.
He was a prominent member of the Royalg Cambrian Academy. He exhibited from 1891-1929, including 42 paintings in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
