On one side is the profile portrait of a male figure, while on the reverse is a skull, both encircled by a snake devouring its own tail — an ouroboros, rich in memento mori symbolism. This striking piece reflects the reminder of mortality and the eternal cycle of life and death. To the back is an old label inscribed J. C. Dent, adding further historical interest and provenance.
