Description

The centre of this beautiful Japanese bowl is painted with blue chrysanthemums, foliage and rocks on a yellow stippled ground, the edge with a green trellis design in the same yellow shade. The outside of the bowl is painted with black foliage on a green ground. There are character marks to the base. There is a slight distortion to a part of the rim, a quirky feature! This was obviously done by the potter and the decoration is completely intact and the condition is good. The strong jewel colours and very decorative design make this a very unusual Japanese ceramic.
