Description

A lovely 19th Century famille verte ovoid ginger jar and coverpainted with officials and their horses, peasants buildings, blossoming prunus and rocks. The circular bands are in under glazed blue. The cover has a charming garden scene with a noble attended by a servant and additional under glazed blue circles. The colours are particularly striking, the iron red, greens, orange and yellow contrasting well with the clear, white glaze. The condition of the vase and cover is very good, no chips or cracks and a good even glaze. A superb 19th Century ginger jar to add style to any room.
