Sourced by ourselves while on a recent trip to Massachusetts, USA.Victorian tole ware box. Rectangular with a slightly domed lid. Green paint finish with yellow line detail. To the top a painted gold band and red line detail. Brass carrying handle to lid
With the interior having a tin lining we think this is actually for storing food, probably a tradesman lunch box.
A superb piece of American folk art with great decorative appeal.
