Description

Late 19th century pitch pine saddle horse by Musgrave & Co Ltd.

A saddle horse is used when cleaning, storing and repairing horse tack.

Features an angled and hinged top and one removeable iron tack tree. One end features a door enclosing a shelf with the other end being three long drawers. Cast iron label to each end with a Royal Coat of Arms, MUSGRAVE & CO LTD. BELFAST, LONDON & PARIS.

Musgrave & Co produced some of the finest examples of saddle racks in the Victorian period. They fitted and furnished stables for members of European royalty and aristocracy.

Presented in fantastic condition with a glorious waxed finish. Some evidence of its previous working life, some knocks and bumps as to be expected, one odd handle to middle drawer. Cast iron carrying handles, feet and working wheels.

The ideal piece if stocking a traditional tack room however we feel this piece could work equally as well as a point of sale table or even a kitchen island
