Description

This is a beautiful Antique Enamel Patch Box dating to c18th Century, with the Chelsea Pottery Anchor mark to the base which is in good condition, but does exhibit some age-related wear as you would expect and measures approximately 5cm wide.

A Patch Box, resembling a Snuff Box, was a small, usually rectangular, sometimes oval or round box, used mostly as a receptacle to store false beauty spot patches, especially in the 18th century. These were pieces of gummed Taffeta or other fabric was used to emphasise the beauty of the skin or to draw attention to particular facial features.

Small and medium sized parcels will be shipped via Royal Mail using a tracked and signed for service. Larger parcels will be shipped via a Parcel Force tracked service. The tracking details will be provided to you once your parcel has been dispatched.
