Description
A lovely set of silver buttons, clearly and well-marked for CH - Charles Horner - with a Birmingham assay for 1901. In addition to the full set of hallmarks to the reverse of each button, the lion passant is also shown on the front.A very similar button design is shown in the Tom J Lawson book 'Charles Horner of Halifax', p77, ill.3-81.
This set, are pinned in a good, slightly tired box showing the retailer as Donald Munro Ltd of Alva St in Edinburgh.
