Description

A good mid 20thC 9ct gold ring with a single cabochon fire opal in a very pretty setting, reminiscent of Victorian cannetile work. The ring is fully hallmarked but they are seriously tiny, and while I can read the gold purity (375) and the maker TN, I am less confident on the year and place of assay.
The band is very solid and even throughout, terminating in a Y at the setting and with engraved embellishment at the shoulders.
I found it if tricky to capture the typical opal inner ‘fire’ but there are hints of it in the photographs, especially the last one: it is stronger in real life.
Size is “K”
Nice ring, prettily made and will be supplied in a ring box.
