Description

A superb 19th Century Portuguese cabinet on stand. Beautifully made, the cabinet has a selection of drawers, all inlaid with tortoise shell and ivory panels depicting a variety of scenes including figures hunting, dining and fighting as well as castles, birds and bridges. There is a central cupboard behind which are three further inlaid drawers and above a pierced gallery and patinated brass embellishments. The cabinet also has ball and claw feet, parquetry ends and stands on its original base which is similarly decorated and has ebonised bobbin turned legs, feet and stretchers. In very good and original condition. 1790mm high, 1080mm wide and 420mm deep. Portuguese. Circa 1880.
