Description

A late 19th century Victorian crocodile skin spectacles case with sterling silver mounts.

The oblong case has a broad sterling silver mount to the front which is attached at both sides to a chain that hangs from an embossed silver clasp designed so that it can be clipped to a breast pocket or belt.

The mount, clip and embossed decoration are all hall marked for Chester and the year 1899 and the maker's mark for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders, James Francis Hollings Shepherd.

The case has a pair of horn rimmed spectacles with very strong lenses.

The case and silver are in very good condition. (Circa 1899)
