Description

A Victorian octagonal cut glass inkwell with a sterling silver tray stand.

The inkwell has a circular sterling silver collar and a hinged lid with a gadrooned decoration to the rim.

The sterling silver triangular shaped tray has a circular housing for the inkwell and a raised decorative back with a rack for a single pen.

The edges and raised back of the tray have a rococo decoration and the tray comes with a mother of pearl and gilt metal pen.

The tray and inkwell have sterling silver hall marks for Chester, the year 1899 and the maker's mark for George Nathan & Ridley Hayes.

The tray and inkwell are in very good condition, the base of the inkwell has a small chip. (Circa 1899)
