Description

A superb quality George 3rd Mahogany Elbow or Armchair.It has oval back with well carved Splats,the Arms also have carved detail which is continued along the serpentine Front Rail and the front Legs,the top of which have an Oval Carved Paterae.The front legs unusually terminate in a Ball foot.This Chair is low., i.e.not Dining Height, therefore is an Armchair, is is very comfortable.The fitted Seat has been re upholstered using original(?) Tapestry which has been cleaned.Overall max height is 33" and width max is 22" seat height is 14". It shows no sign of old breaks or repairs and is very sound.c.1780-90
