Description

This is a superb original French bedstead or frame
Comprises of a shaped headboard and foot board with a pair of angle irons which join the top and base and allow a bed base and mattress to be placed on top

Made somewhere between 1880-1910, this piece epitomises the wonderfully elegant French Louis XV style

A very practical and romantic piece of furniture that will enhance and become the centrepiece of any room

It has a wonderful decorative carved section on top of the headboard , superb quartered veneers and the elegant feet all add to the wonderful look of this terrific piece

The bed has been altered at some time to make it more suitable for British size mattresses, the fixing brackets and angle irons are not original but the bed will now take an English size double bed base and mattress thus saving a huge amount by having to have a special size base and mattress made

The quality of the materials used and the standard or craftsmanship set this piece apart from many similar beds
