LEA STEIN was born in Paris in 1931 and married FERNAND STEINBERGER in the 1950's not until the 1960's did she begin to produce her Costume jewellery in her own creative and innovative style. Her husband FERNAND had discovered that by using many layers of celluloid
accetate sheets he created a multi layer effect sometimes finishing off the top layer with a material such as lace when they had been blended and baked to harden them various shapes could be hand carved. Many effects and colours were achieved. This secret process makes each piece of LEA STEIN quite unique and no two pieces will be exactly the same.
