Description

Fine Quality Early Victorian Mahogany 7 Drawer Secretaire Wellington Chest. The top having a raised back and square edge with a half round moulding over a cavetto frieze with a further moulding below. The mahogany lined drawers below having turned knob handles. The third and fourth drawers down being a dummy front for a drop down writing section with a baize lining. The interior, all cedar, having 7 pigeon holes with shaped arcaded tops over 3 drawers with turned knob handles over 3 void spaces. The drawers flanked by hinged locking bars with moulded lines and topped by carved corbels. The righthand one with brass lock & key the other with a brass bolt. All on plinth base.
