Description

Victorian Figured Walnut 'Piano Top' 'Pop Up' Davenport. The rising top having brass ballister gallery with 3 maple lined drawers flanked by 4 pigeon holes with open fret decorated tops all sat in a moulded frame. The down swept hinged front opening to a pair of mahogany lined drawers with knob handles over a slide out leather lined reading slope with adjustable ratcheted hinged support. To the side there are two lidded compartments a pentray and two inkwells. Four mahogany lined drawers with knob handles to the righthand side with dummy drawers to the left and a panel within moulded frame to the back and front. The front haing a pair of cabriole supports with leaf carved tops and scrolled sides having scrolled bases. All sitting on concave fronted platform on squat bun feet with hidden brass ceramic wheeled castors.
