Silver & Mother of Pearl, Edwardian Fruit Knife
Hallmarked for Sheffield 1902
The maker`s mark - WTS, for William Thomas Staniforth,
Ascend Cutlery Works, Arundel Lane, Sheffield.
A superb, medium large fruit knife in unused condition.
The blade opens and closes correctly - snaps into position when open, and at right angles, and closes manually.

A curved handle with two notches, attractive striations and thick mother of pearl scales to both sides, and with engine turning on the silver hinge facings. An oval, silver, vacant cartouche in the centre of the front mother of pearl.
Excellent hallmarks and clean deep thumb nail groove.
123 years old.

Open length:- 136 millimetres.
Closed length:- 75 mms.
Knife weight:- 24.2 grams.
