Silver Combination Case - Sovereigns,1/2 sovereigns, Cards & Notes
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1906
With the maker`s mark - D & F, for Deakin & Francis.
A sprung centre section has three coin compartments. Two which each hold two sovereigns, and the centre one to hold two half sovereigns.
The hinge spring holds it tight down, so that the coins will not slip out.
When the section is folded over, against the spring, the coins can be slipped out as required.
The opposite side has two retaining corners for holding cards -
see pictures 1 & 3. Underneath the coin holder there is a clip for holding anything flat - a small card or similar.

The outer case, which has a beaten finish, springs open using the button push, and snaps shut. All edges align perfectly.
Original gilded interior.

Cartouche - front centre, monogrammed HP.
Original dedication on the inside - see picture 3.
