A Magnificent Pair of Venetian Blackamoor Candle Sconces

A Life size Pair of Italian Carved Wooden Blackamoors, 2 handsome gentlemen dressed in North African Style
These charming statues stand over 5ft high, they each hold a cornucopia sconce, they are true pair being right and left handed
The Blackamoors have been carved in soft wood which has been prepared with gesso before being painted, the colours are very rich with generous amounts of Gold
Due to the age of these there is some chipping of the paint and some evidence of the wood having dried out over the years giving rise to some slight cracks, and both of them have sustained chipping around their bases, but all in all good and rare pair of Blackamoors

The Statues are 64” tall, and stand on 6 sided plinths 20” in dimeter
