A Large 19th Century Carved Oak Caryatid

This is a superbly carved piece of 19th Century carving, it was removed from its original setting in the 1930s and has been given a flat oak top with a moulded edge to turn it into a tochere

Our Caryatid is a female figure, possibly a mermaid, she has serpent like creature with the head of a dragon coiled around her body, the detail of this carved piece is superb, hair, faces, wings and fins

The Caryatid is in very good condition, with good patination and the added top has been removed with no harm to the statue, it is 41” tall
