Early to Mid 20thC Lead Sculpture of a Cat

Description
The attractive lead sculpted figure of a cat, freestanding on its haunches ready to pounce, showing a good patination to the lead, and surviving from the early to middle part of twentieth century England. The figure is in stable overall order and appears to be unsigned. There is a nice patination with some discolouration and established wear commensurate with being stood part sheltered outside for a number of years and he proves tactile as a result. Without a base, he would need to be away from children but he still stands well. The tail has been repaired and there a couple of other historic repairs.
The cat has been a favourite subject of artists across cultures from prehistory until the present day, from age-old paintings to more modern graphic design, and throughout the course of art history, no group has portrayed felines as favorably as the ancient Egyptians. This sculpture has a feeling of primitive rawness and experimentation which we admire.
We are in awe of this cool cats' poise.
