Description

The artists study plaster modelled mannequin head of a young man, hand painted with enamel eyes, realistically rendered eyelashes, dark brown hair and sideburns, having a slightly disturbing comatose or brain-dead like expression with closed mouth and rolled eyes, survives from the mid to late twentieth century.

The condition of the head is good with only marginal wear and markings. There is a hole to plaster neck base and it is signed and numbered ‘22’ and marked ‘m24ktgp mid terran’?.

The Rape of Lucrece by William Shakespeare (exert)

Into the chamber wickedly he stalks,
And gazeth on her yet unstained bed.
The curtains being close, about he walks,
Rolling his greedy eyeballs in his head
By their high treason is his heart misled
Which gives the watch-word to his hand full soon
To draw the cloud that hides the silver moon.
