A continental coastal scene with Cattle figures and a castle.

Indistinctly signed but dated 1825 lower left hand corner.

This is a superb elysian continental style picture which would grace any period home. Painted in the romantic manner a castle can be seen in the middle ground with sea mist hanging around the white cliffs beyond.
In the foreground there are figures and cows on the shore whilst someone is a carrying a figure across what appears to be an inlet.
Oil on canvas in a gilt frame. The canvas is in good condition with a minor loss on paint above the tree (see photograph). The frame is commensurate with age very heavy frame but in good condition.
