This oil painting depicts a herdsman herding sheep and cattle in a winter setting.This beautiful picture shows 4 young sheep with one leeping , the sheep dog looks on whilst a man drives on the cattle . This painting depicts a cold winters day with storm clouds gathering over a cottage in the distance Attributed to John Barker (1811 - 1886. Signed John Barker and dated 1866 lower left hand corner.

The picture has been restored and is in excellent condition and is presented in a later period gilt frame.
Canvas is in a excellent condition. There is a repair to the area of blue sky.
