Description

Oil on canvas sailing vessel at sea .The painting is in a naive style and presented in a gilt frame. The painting and frame are in excellent condition. The frame is commensurate with age with minor gilt loss.

There is an indistinct monogram "GDB" in the lower left corner. The painting has two inscriptions. At the bottom of the painting the inscription looks like "Ship lo le Cheve Deane Mast". At the right hand side of the painting there is a scene of a ship in choppy waters and the inscription "in a storm July 25th 1751".
