A Scottish Provincial Silver Soup Ladle made in Banff by John Keith and dating from c1795.There is an engraved initial "W" on the handle.
The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's initials "IK" for John Keith, and the letter "B" for Banff (struck twice) alongside the rare "salmon" mark.
John Keith is recorded as working in Banff c1794 to 1824.
