An antique, George III, Scottish Silver Soup Ladle made by James Orr, Greenock and dating from c1802.The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JO" (slightly worn but legible) for James Orr (Greenock), the Scottish thistle silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh Castle town mark and date letter "W" for 1802/03.
There is an engraved initial on the handle (see photo).
