Description

A very good, matched Set of Six, Fiddle & Thread Pattern, early Victorian English Silver Dessert Spoons, made in London and dating from c1860. They are from the same canteen of cutlery with all six having the armorial crest (see photo).
Two of the spoons are hallmarked with the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the maker's mark "GA" for Chawner & Co (George William Adams), the Leopard's Head london town mark and the date letter "g" for 1862/63. The other four hallmarked with the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the maker's mark "CB" for Charles Boyton , the Leopard's Head london town mark and the date letter "k" for 1865/66.
