A very good, antique, Victorian, Large Scottish Silver Basting/Gravy or Stuffing Spoon made by James McKay of Edinburgh and dating from c1849.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "JMc" for James McKay, the Scottish "thistle" silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria), the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and the date letter "S" for 1849/50.
It has the engraved initial "P" (see photo)
