A very nice Queen Anne Britannia Standard, Silver Sugar Caster made in London by Charles Adam and dating from c1707.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "AD" for Charles Adam (during this period they used the first two letters of their surname), the Britannia standard silver mark, the Lion's Head Erased London town mark and date letter for 1707/08.
Charles Adam is recorded as working in London c1703 - 1718.
The top of the caster with pierced decoration. It is also stamped with the maker's mark "AD". The main body with decorative engraving.
