Description

A good, matched Set of Six, Antique, English Sterling Silver Table or Dinner Forks made in London and dating from c1830.
Two are hallmarked with the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Crowned Leopard's Head London town mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and date letter "M" for 1807/08 and the maker's mark "WE/WF" for William Eley & William Fearn. The other four forks hallmarked with the Lion Passant Silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the date letter "P" for 1830/31 and the maker's mark "WE" for William Eaton (the maker's mark worn one fork and illegible on two.
The forks have a nice beaded edge. They have the initials "EW" on the handle.
