Description

A nice, Victorian, English Silver Fusee Pocket Watch made by John Forrest London and dates from c1876.
The English silver case is in good condition. It has engine turned engraving to the rear (worn near the edge) and a central cartouche with engraved initials. It is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "PW", the London town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark and the date letter "A" for 1876/77. It has the serial number 21540.
The English Lever Fusee movement is in good condition and working order. It is key wound and set with the key provided and is complete with dust cover. The dust cover is signed "John Forrest, London" and has the serial number 21540. The movement signed "Chronometer maker to the Admiralty (the British Royal Navy)" and also has the serial number (see photo).
The dial is in good condition, signed "John Forrest, London" above the serial number.
The case, movement, dust cover and dial all have the same serial number, proving all are original and have been together since new.
