World War 2 Vintage Elgin Military Stopwatch/Timer, US ORD DEPT.A vintage, World War Two era, Elgin Military Stopwatch/Timer. The dial is signed "Elgin Timer".
The movement signed "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. USA". The serial number 40,586114 dating it to c1941. The base metal case is stamped "cased and timed by Elgin Nat'l Watch Co". The rear has the Military Ordnance Arrow and "1/5 Sec TP".
It is also stamped "ORD DEPT, US, NO OS 8921", this writing has a line through it.
The movement is in working order. In very good condition.
The watch measures approximately 49 mm in diameter, measured across the case, excluding crown.
