Description

A nice, Early Victorian, English Silver Snuff Box. The box was made in Birmingham and dates from c1840.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "WS", the Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and the date letter "R" for 1840/41.
The top of the lid has a shield shaped cartouche that is free of engraved initials (see photo)
The box has engine turned engraving to top and base with reeded sides.
