Description

A very nice, good quality, Georgian, Large English Silver Table Snuff Box with a "picture top" depicting a hunting scene with hares & hounds. The box was made in Birmingham and dates from c1829.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "WS", the Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and the date letter "f" for 1829/30.
The picture top panel can be removed to reveal the former owners name engraved "Peter Peck" (see photo)
The box has reeded sides and engine turned decoration to the base. The base with some flat spots where the engraving has worn as can be expected given the age.
