Rare George II, Scottish Silver Cream Boat c1744

Description
A very rare George II, Scottish Silver Sauce or Cream Boat made in Edinburgh by Edward Lothian and dating from c1744.It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "EL" for Edward Lothian (worn), the Edinburgh "castle" town mark, the assay master's mark "HG" for Hugh Gordon and the date letter "P" for 1744/45.
The rim is decorated with chased foliate flower head and shell decorations.
