A very nice pair of Antique George III, Scottish Silver Tablespoons made by William Auld in Edinburgh and dating from c1806.
The spoons measure just under 8 1/2" inches (215mm) in length, therefore they would make an excellent pair of serving spoons.
They are hallmaked with the maker's mark "WA" for William Auld, the Scottish Thistle Sterling Silver Mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh Castle town mark and the date letter "a" for 1806/07.
The handles have a nice armorial crest and the motto "Optima Est Veritas" (Truth is Best).
They are in very good condition but do have some minor wear to the tips of the bowls (see photo).
