George III, English Silver Snuff Box

Description

A nice Antique, Georgian, English Silver Snuff Box made by John Shaw, Birmingham and dating from c1813.
The box is hallmarked with the monarch's head duty mark, the lion passant silver mark, the maker's mark "IS" for John Shaw and the date letter "P" for 1813/14.
There is a reeded finish to top, bottom and sides. The lid has a rectangular cartouche to the top with the former owner's name engraved (slightly worn).
The box is in reasonably good condition however there is a small split on one corner of the lid (see photo - top left corner).
