Description

An exquisite Antique, Victorian, Large, English Silver Presentation Table Snuff Box.
The box is hallmarked on the inside, the lid having the Monarch's Head duty mark (William IV), the maker's mark "ES" for Edward Smith and the Lion Passant Silver Mark. The base having the maker's mark "ES" again alongside the Birmingham town mark and date letter "n" for 1836/37.
There is a very nice Presentation Inscription of Scottish Interest. The box being a gift by Friends of the Relief Church, Falkirk, 1837 (see photo).
