Description

A very good quality, Georgian English Sterling Silver Dinner Plate or Serving Dish, made in London by William Fountain and dating from c1814.
It has very crisp and clear hallmarks, hallmarked with the maker's mark WF for William Fountain, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark and date letter T for 1814/15.
The plate has two family crests. The Maxwell crest and motto REVIRESCO and the Harris crest and motto DOMINUS DEDIT.
It is in very good condition, with light surface scratches consistent with light, normal use.
It measures approximately 9 1/2" inches (240mm) in diameter.
The weight is 491g.
A lovely item of Georgian English silver, it would make a great addition to any collection.
