Description

A very rare, Antique, Victorian, Scottish Silver Snuff Box made by James Nasmyth & Co. of Edinburgh and dating from c1850. Scottish made Card Cases are relatively rare and this is a nice example.
The base is hallmarked with the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the Scottish thistle silver mark, the maker's mark JN & Co for James Nasmyth & Co, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter T for 1850/51.
The exterior of the case with lovely engine turned tartan engraving.
The case measures 80mm x 43mm x 8mm. The weight is 39.9g.
It is in very good overall condition, although there are some very minor indents to the sides, nothing significant.
