Description

A vintage Scottish Provincial Silver Clan Badge Brooch dating from c1967 and made by John Fraser of Inverness.
The badge with the MacBean clan crest and motto "Touch not a catt bot a targe" which means "Don't touch a cat without a shield".
The rear hallmarked with the makers mark JF and INS for Inverness alongside the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter M for 1967/68.
It measures 45mm in diameter and the weight is 23.4g.
It is in excellent condition.
