A superb, Georgian Scottish Provincial Silver Toddy (sauce or cream) Ladle made in Aberdeen by James Erskine and dating from c1795.
James Erskine is recorded in Jackson's Silver as working in Aberdeen c1792 to 1818.
It is marked with the the maker's Aberdeen marks, the letter "E" alongside the "hand & dagger" and "three turrets".
It has the initial W on the handle.
The ladle measures approximately 6 1/2" inches (170mm) in length. The weight is 23.4g.
