Description

An antique, Victorian Scottish 9ct Gold Medal from the Alness Games.
Alness is a small town located in the highlands of Scotland, north of Inverness, overlooking the Black Isle and the Cromarty Firth.
The medal Presented to W. Ross by Alness Games Committee 1898-99.
The medal is hallmarked with the maker's mark WHH for William Hair Haseler, 9/.375 for 9 carat gold alongside the Birmingham anchor town mark and date letter y for 1898/99.
It is also stamped with a Victorian design registration number.
The medal measures approximately 30mm x 25mm. The weight is approximately 4.8g.
